tunnel connecting Venice
Blvd & Chartres St &c…..
put it this way once
you see les diableries
the transom is cracked
through blows perception
winds which ring-a-rosy round
the hinge of everything & chime
synchronic, or open the burning door
in Culver & step through to
Pasadena, New Orleans, Uqbar,
rabbits, fictions, insect-infinite-reality
wherever the bleeding edge of history
is writing & the sighthounds
howl under the floorboards,
inside of a dog, it’s too dark
to read

Biographical Statement

Jace Brittain is the author of Sorcererer (Schism 2022) and an editor for Carrion Bloom Books. They live, write, and teach in Louisiana, and they are a director on the board of New Orleans Poetry Fest. Their writing and translations have appeared in ANMLY, mercury firs, Grotto Journal, Community Mausoleum, and elsewhere.
