"THE BULLSHIT"
- Set a timer for five minutes and list as many sensory memories from childhood as you can. Sights/smells/sounds/tastes/feels - these don't necessarily need to be full sentences, but they can be. If you reach a stopping point, move to your teenage years.
- Set a timer for five minutes and list as many sensory memories as you can from the last 48 hours. If you reach a stopping point, look around the room you are in right now.
- Set a timer for five minutes and get the bullshit out. What are you feeling today? What are you annoyed about right now? What is making your heart happy? What made you laugh recently? What pissed you off? What's the last horrible thing someone said to you? What is your favorite memory of your best friend? Total and complete free stream-of-consciousness -- think, like, diary entry at 13 years old kind of vibe.
- Pull 3-5 (or more!) lines from steps 1-3 and combine them into a poem. Paying attention to sound and rhythm rather than logical sense.
