Antonio Vargas-Nieto
SERAPHIC FEATHER DUSTER
stillness turned silence
we take turns
we split
the smoke
the road bumps
the aux cord
plucks
at heart
strings
leading to wings
pearlescent
full
lunacy
present
combustible
I make ruins
out of bursted
stars
ash
spit
chipped tooth dreams
at the grocery store
I pick the perfect heart
each wheel
rotates
in
harmony
daughter
sways
mother
secures
box
of
gogurt
head
spinning
I am earth
orbital habits
teleplasticity
another cigarette
another small death
KINETIC MIMETIC
my photonic twin
I’m tipping the scale
with moth wing dust
not defying gravity
but defiling it
I take off my shirt
its warmth
entropies back into you
communications
out of stray lines
crescent
windwish
eyelash
radio waves
as light forms
my instruments
tuned to your frequency
a terrestrial machine
sensitive enough
to detect black holes
merging am I
the machine
are you
the machine
my photonic twin
spread the wingspan
of a cosmic day
silicathread filigree
suspended in magnitude
no longer embodied
emboldened
cog dislodged from
orbital
carnal
bearing witness
to blazing branch
I don’t want to be near the fire
I want to be the one burning
